You totally missed the heard of elephants called “salt of the earth PC shrimp bottom trawlers”. Bottom trawling takes the nutrients like phosphorous that becomes incorporated in the bottom sediments and puts them back in the water column available for algae blooms. The magnitude of this P flux is ten times larger than the Mississippi river.

You can stop eating totally, but if the shrimpers keep bottom trawling the dead zones will continue.

The “elephant in the room” is the billion gallons of oil laying at the bottom of the gulf, and slowly seeping out into the north stream of the Atlantic. There is nothing we can do now. It is there and will do what its going to do. We have no idea. BP got away with paying a few million and walked away from what they did. That and what is happening now off the coast of Australia will kill most of the ocean. That does not spell warming. It spells ICE AGE.

Uh…anyone want to discuss the elephant in the room for the Gulf of Mexico? Nitrogen and phosphorous enter the river through runoff of fertilizers, animal wastes, and sewage. Certainly soil erosion as well but the biggie is farming practices.
Stop eating meat and dairy and you’ll help out the planet a ton.
